The CAF (Common Analysis Framework) began as a histogramming framework for the ATLAS H→WW→lνlν analysis, but is now used by various analyses for histogramming, dumping of nTuples, creation of cutflows, event lists, and various other types of visualizations, calculating normalization factors, building workspaces, running fits, and generally any task starting from DxAODs or nTuples.
These pages are intended to provide you with an easy start into using CAF, with examples and tutorials, whether you are joining an analysis that already uses the framework or whether you are looking into which framework to use when starting up your own, new analysis!
If you want to learn more than is presented on these pages, subscribe to our mailing list qframework-users to chat with other users and developers, take a look at our gitlab, explore our code documentation and get involved in the development!
